2025 MAY ELECTIONS
School Board Elections
Our values for Public Education
The El Paso County Democratic Party believes in the following principles;
● Public education provides access to a quality education regardless of income, race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, religious freedom, or ethnicity, which is essential for advancing prosperity and quality of life for El Paso's citizens.
● Protection of public schools from losing funding and students to charter schools is essential.
● Teachers, staff, and administrators are on the front lines of preparing the next generation of El Pasoans to lead our community into the future. They should be empowered to accomplish this mission without undue interference and compensated with a fair salary reflecting their roles' importance.
● Collaboration among school boards, school district administrations, and teacher associations regarding pay and working conditions is essential to promoting quality education for the children of El Paso.
● Safe classroom environments are a priority to ensure students are free from threat or harm.
● Neighborhood schools should be preserved to ensure inclusive environments that nurture every student’s potential.
Members of the public who believe in these principles should be encouraged to run, receive support, and be elected by the voters of El Paso County.
