Mike Dipp Jr. 1941-2023

As stated on our social media and other sources, El Paso Democratic Hall of Fame member Mike Dipp passed away on June 25. Mike was an unwavering supporter of the El Paso County Democratic Party, and we'll never forget Mke's impact on the community.

I met Mike over 20 years ago when I first joined our party. By the time I met him, he was already a legend. As a son of immigrants who came from Lebanon, his father opened a grocery and produce business, which we know as Economy Cash & Carry, and later on, diversified into Plaza Properties.

Mike would eventually lead the company and participate in local Democratic politics. I recall listening to his version of our party's history during the eras of Tom Diamond, George McAlmon, and others in the past. Still, the common theme in each conversation and story he told, Mike was always there when we needed him.

He worked tirelessly to support our candidates and advance our values. But his dedication to El Paso went beyond politics. He was deeply committed to making a difference in his community and improving the lives of those around him. Anytime we asked, he was there, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations of Democrats in El Paso and beyond.

Mike's memory lives within us and in the countless lives he touched and his positive impact on our community and party. He will always be remembered as a true champion of Democratic values, a tireless advocate for El Paso, and a beloved El Paso Democratic Party member.
